Samenvatting

Hoofdstuk 5 geeft handvatten voor het opzetten en uitvoeren van een geïntegreerd behandelprogramma voor een persoon met oedeem. Er is aandacht voor alle behandelingsaspecten in de initiële fase, de overgangsfase en de onderhoudsfase. Nieuw zijn het zelfmanagement en het verandergedrag, voeding, tapen en andere biomedische behandelingen; daarom hebben ook andere disciplines zoals de diëtist, psycholoog en compressiespecialist meegeschreven. Nieuw is ook de aandacht voor de medicamenteuze behandeling van infecties en de invloed van medicijnen op het oedeem. In dit boek wordt uitgebreid ingegaan op voorlichting, compressie, nieuwe vormen van compressietechnologie en oefentherapie; zowel vanuit een theoretisch oogpunt als vanuit de praktijk. De beschrijving van de indicatie en plaats van de reductieve en reconstructieve operatieve mogelijkheden in een multidisciplinaire setting maken dit hoofdstuk compleet.
