Samenvatting

Een perifere facialisparese is op zich een gemakkelijke diagnose. De behandeling en het beleid zijn echter niet eenduidig. Is een afwachtend beleid aan de orde of moet men zo snel mogelijk beginnen met antivirale middelen, al dan niet in combinatie met corticosteroïden? Om dit therapeutisch dilemma te illustreren beschrijven we de volgende casus.
