Samenvatting

Dit artikel beschrijft de eerste ervaringen en behandelresultaten met HIFU in Nederland bij patiënten met een lokaal prostaatcarcinoom of een aangetoond lokaal recidief na uitwendige bestraling. De veranderingen in PSA worden besproken, alsook de mogelijke complicaties na 6 maanden bij een groep van 103 patiënten, van wie 81 patiënten een primair prostaatcarcinoom hadden en 22 een lokaal recidief na radiotherapie.
