Samenvatting

Zoals iedere huisarts weet bestaat er een discrepantie tussen richtlijnen en de dagelijkse praktijk. Dat is ook goed, richtlijnen zijn slechts richtlijnen en moeten vooral niet altijd letterlijk worden toegepast. Flexibiliteit is noodzakelijk, evenals ruimte voor individuele klinische beslissingen in de spreekkamer of aan het bed. Desondanks is de kloof tussen wat officieel wordt aanbevolen en wat er gemiddeld genomen in de praktijk wordt gedaan soms te groot.
