Samenvatting

  • Een goede manier om belemmerende en bevorderende factoren en voorwaarden voor verandering te identificeren is om te starten met gedetailleerde bestudering van enkele gevallen, om zo mogelijk relevante factoren op te sporen en vervolgens een grootschaliger studie uit te voeren om het relatieve belang van de verschillende factoren te bepalen bij een grotere groep professionals, instellingen en patiënten.
  • Semigestructureerde interviews, focusgroepinterviews en (al dan niet participerende) observatie lijken goed bruikbaar voor gedetailleerde analyse van enkele gevallen. Vragenlijsten en grootschalig verzamelde gegevens (al dan niet als onderdeel van de patiëntenzorg) kunnen worden gebruikt om het relatieve belang van de gevonden factoren te bepalen.
  • Het gebruik van op theorie gebaseerde hypothesen kan een bijdrage leveren aan het opsporen van invoeringsproblemen, maar aanbevolen wordt om in elk geval ook explorerende methoden te gebruiken. Het inzicht in de praktische bruikbaarheid van de verschillende methoden is nog beperkt.
