Kernpunten

  • Bursitis prepatellaris of is een al dan niet infectieuze ontsteking van de slijmbeurs van de patella.
  • Het onderscheid tussen infectieuze en niet-infectieuze bursitis is van belang.
  • Een diagnostische punctie is bij twijfel behulpzaam.
  • Aspiratie en intrabursale injectie met steroïden zijn bij chronische, niet-infectieuze bursitis effectief.
  • Een infectieuze bursitis moet (zo mogelijk op basis van een kweek) met antibiotica behandeld worden.
