Mindfulness-based psychotherapies—such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT; Segal et al.,
2002), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT; Hayes et al., 2002), and Dialectical behavioral Therapy (DBT; Linehan,
1993)—have garnered increased attention by clinicians as a promising modality for intervention (Hofmann et al.,
2010). Research in to mindfulness-based psychtherapies indicates the promise of this technology for addressing a wide variety of psychological outcomes (Khoury et al.,
2013), including depression (Seshadri et al.,
2021), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (Edel et al.,
2017), and problematic substance use (Baldus et al.,
2018). Novel mindfulness-based psychotherapies therapies similarly hold promise as effective intervention technology, and innovative protocols are currently being developed to advance this exciting new domain of psychotherapy. …
