Kernpunten

  • Kenmerkend voor tinea capitis zijn een of meer kale plekken met afgebroken haren op het behaarde hoofd, bedekt met grijswitte schilfers.
  • De aandoening kan op iedere leeftijd voorkomen, maar treft vooral kinderen < 11 jaar.
  • Bij beperkte erupties volstaat lokale behandeling met een imidazolpreparaat.
  • Bij uitgebreide erupties is systemische behandeling met terbinafine of itraconazol noodzakelijk.
  • Tinea capitis is besmettelijk door verspreiding van besmette huidschilfers.
