Kernpunten

  • Luchtdeeltjes en druppels bij uitademing en contact met handen of voorwerpen zijn de belangrijkste transmissiebronnen van verhoudheid.
  • Bij verkoudheid volstaat uitleg dat het om een onschuldige luchtweginfectie gaat, die vanzelf geneest en waarbij antibiotica niet nodig zijn.
  • Neusdruppels met decongestiva hebben een kortdurend effect op de neusverstopping.
  • Vitamine C heeft een gering effect op de duur van de klachten.
