Kernpunten

  • Vitiligo is een goedaardige, verworven, chronische pigmentstoornis door verlies van functionele melanocyten, die meestal geleidelijk uitbreidend is.
  • Een belangrijk deel van de klachten bij vitiligo is psychosociaal van aard.
  • Er zijn verschillende therapieën voor vitiligo beschikbaar, zoals topicale corticosteroïden, lichttherapie of een combinatie hiervan.
  • De therapie voor vitiligo is beperkt effectief en volledige repigmentatie is niet te verwachten.
