Samenvatting

Als er middels diagnostiek is vastgesteld dat er wordt voldaan aan de criteria voor ADHD, volgt er een behandeladvies. Volgens de zorgstandaard van ADHD spelen bij het bepalen van het behandeladvies de leeftijd van een kind of jongere, de mate van ernst van de ADHD-kenmerken evenals de comorbiditeit van gedragsproblemen een rol. In dit hoofdstuk beschrijven we – op basis van de geldende richtlijnen – de verschillende behandeladviezen die gegeven kunnen worden aan kinderen en jongeren met ADHD en hun omgeving. We sluiten het hoofdstuk af door de meest ingezette behandelingen voor ADHD bij kinderen en jongeren en hun omgeving te bespreken, inclusief hun effectiviteit.
